Each year an average of 3536 people die as a result of drowning in non-boating-related accidents.   Nearly 1,000 children die from drowning each year.  For every child who dies from drowning, another five receive emergency department care for nonfatal submersion injuries.  The vast majority of these deaths and injuries occur in the backyard swimming pool.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the number ONE cause of accidental death among infants and children ages 1 to 4.

The POOL PROTECTOR SWIMMING POOL ALARM is an electronic digital monitoring system that sits on the pool deck as shown in the picture, with the sensor tube extending down into the water.  The sensor can be adjusted for the correct water level and for wind disturbances or bad weather.  It will detect any splashes or ripples in the water and will sound a loud alarm, both at the pool and inside the house, when children or pets fall into your unsupervised pool.

The main unit is completely self-contained, lightweight and is simple to install and operate. There are three settings: Sleep, Mute, and Swim Mode.  A splash in the pool will be detected by the Pool Alarm's electronic sensor, triggering a loud pulsating 85-decibel alarm at the pool, as well as inside your house from the remote receiver. Installation of the alarm system is very easy and, while designed for an in-ground pool, will also work well with an above ground pool.

The Pool Protector Pool Alarm is very easy to use with control button operation and will automatically arm itself once you are done swimming.  You can also manually place the unit in the "Armed" mode when desired.  There is also a "tamper" alarm that will sound and alert you if someone enters your pool unannounced or tries to move or disable the alarm without knowing how.

The Pool Alarm comes with a remote receiver with flashing light which can be mounted in your home up to 300 feet from the main unit. The receiver comes with a 12-volt power supply and uses a 9 volt (not included) battery backup. The Pool Alarm main unit uses 6 D batteries (not included) which should last approximately one year. There is an audible low battery indicator which will sound at the poolside alarm and the remote receiver when the batteries begin to run low.
